Obituary of Steven Sadlon

ILION - Steven “Sandy” M. Sadlon, age 58, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Ilion, N.Y., and Kansas City, Mo., passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Fla., after a long illness. He was born on Dec. 24, 1950, in Little Falls, the son of Steven D. and Helen P. (Yaworski) Sadlon and graduated from Ilion High School and Rochester Institute of Technology. Sandy was a commodities broker in Kansas City for over 20 years. In his early years, he attended the Ilion United Methodist Church, receiving several perfect attendance pins. Survivors include his parents, Helen and Steven Sadlon of Ilion; his brother, Richard Sadlon and his wife Beth of Little Falls; his niece, Natasha Sadlon of Albany; his nephew, Jeff Sadlon of Little Falls; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Calling hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis Resources of CNY, Herkimer County Humane Society or your favorite charity.
