Obituary of Mary Bernardine

FRANKFORT-Mrs. Mary F. (Ciallelo) Bernardine, 93, a Frankfort native, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born in Auburn, NY daughter of the late Michael and Lucy (DePalma) Ciallelo and raised and educated in Frankfort. She spent most of her life in Little Falls where she moved to in 1938. On November 12, 1938, Mary was united in Holy Matrimony with William P. ?Bill? Bernardine at St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. The Bernardines enjoyed a blessed and loving union of 58 years until Bill?s passing on March 24, 1997. Mrs. Bernardine, along with her husband, owned and operated Bill's Dinette in Little Falls. A woman of strong Catholic faith and principles, she attended St. Mary's Church throughout her earlier years and later Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. Mary was a woman who felt her greatest honor and her deepest joy in life was family. She carried on her dedication into succeeding generations through her relationships with her husband, children, nieces and nephews. She was a kind woman with a charming demeanor and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Her family will cherish the fond memories of the pleasant and enjoyable occasions they shared with her. Survivors include her brother: Michael Ciallelo of Frankfort; many nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, who were all very special to her, as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by a son: Salvatore Bernardine on July 28, 1986, a brother: Private John Ciallelo, killed in action during World War II and by two sisters: Rose Campione and Pat Purpura. Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Frankfort and Ilion, 894-8000, will be on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A prayer service will take place on Monday at 11:30 am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 noon in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort with the Rev. John Yanas, Jr., officiating. She will be laid to rest in the spring in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. The family offers its deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Valley Health Services, Herkimer for their kindness and compassion offered.
