Obituary of Stefan Bladek

Stefan (Steve) Bladek, 90, a longtime Little Falls resident passed away on Monday March 31, 2008 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born April 11, 1917 in Little Falls the son of the late Anthony and Frances (Rozlasly) Bladek and was educated in Little Falls schools. Steve previously lived in Mohawk for 28 years and in Herkimer for 10 years and in Little Falls for several years. He was first married to Helen Depew who passed away in 1965. He was later married to the former Stella Synenki Kopanski who preceded him in death on June 9, 2003. Mr. Bladek was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. He served in the African and Italian Campaigns. Steve owned and operated Bladek Watch and Jewelry Repair in Herkimer and Little Falls, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church and the Little Falls Staff Sergeant Steve Stefula VFW Post. Survivors include his step-son, James Kopanski and wife Christine of the state of Washington, a granddaughter, Sara Genova and husband Sean, in-law, Ida Sadlon and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, John, William and Anthony, and three sisters, Louise, Nellie and Caroline. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 4, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 11:30 am from the Holy Spirit polish National Catholic Church, with the Reverend Rafael Dadello, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will take place at Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday April 4, 2008 from 10:00 am until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers please make all memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
