ILION-Clifford Dean “Cliff” Boardman, Jr., 39, of E. Clark St., passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2008 in his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born on January 29, 1969 in Little Falls, son of Clifford D. Boardman, Sr. of Herkimer and Julia (Downs) Congden of Ilion. He attended schools in Little Falls. Cliff was a member of the American Legion in Herkimer. He was a fun-loving young man who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and bowling. Survivors include his parents: Clifford Boardman, Sr., of Herkimer and Julia Congden of Ilion; two brothers: John Boardman and Brian Boardman both of Ilion; two sisters: Cheryl Brown of Frankfort and Kandy Clemons of Ilion; many aunts, uncles especially mentioning Adrian Downs with whom Cliff resided with and who was like a father to him and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. His funeral will commence at 7 p.m. following visitation on Tuesday evening in the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Wintermute, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
