Obituary of Adelaide Bunce

Frankfort: Adelaide M. Bunce, 91, of Kernan Avenue, Frankfort passed away on December 16, 2008, in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica. Mrs. Bunce was born on July 14, 1917, a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Hempstead) Reynolds. She was a graduate of Ilion Central School. Adelaide was married to Ivan Bunce, who predeceased her in 1984. She was a devoted member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort. Adelaide is survived by her two sons: Art Bunce of West Winfield, and Irv Bunce and his wife Beth of Frankfort; two daughters: Shirley Curtis and her husband Jack of Roebuck, S.C. and Pat Gizowski and her husband Carl of Schuyler; her brother Robert Reynolds of Ilion and her sister Thelma Hart and her husband Ned of Mohawk; a sister-in-law Sophie Reynolds of Ilion; her grandchildren: Kelly Day, David Knapp, Traci Gizowski, Mark Bunce, Janet Bunce and Christian Bunce; great-grandchildren: Jason Songer and Ben Knapp; along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Adelaide was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Bunce and her siblings: George and Fred Reynolds, Arlene Fike, and Iola Stephens. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Frankfort and Ilion (894-8000) on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Her funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral parlor, with procession to Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, where the Very Reverend Anthony Barratt, assisted by Deacon James Bower, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Committal will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Frankfort Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Kochare and the staff of the Special Care Unit on the Fourth Floor of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for the care and kindness shown to Adelaide and her family.
