Obituary of Willis Comstock

Mr. Willis Albert Comstock 75 of 362 County Hwy 108 St. Johnsville, died unexpectedly Friday December 12, 2008 in Little Falls Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at his residence. He was born in Dolgeville, on September 22, 1933 the son of the late Arthur R. and Edith Mae (Voorhees) Comstock and attended Stratford School. A veteran of the United States Air Force he served honorably during the Korean Conflict from September 1951 until his discharge in September 1955. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his period of service. He was employed by the Adirondack Bat Company of Dolgeville until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Stratford Senior Citizens, and he enjoyed doing puzzles along with playing cards in the Wednesday Card Club. Surviving are his children his daughters and their husbands Lisa and William Case of Oklahoma, Yvonne and Randy Oliver of Florida, Denise Barton of Dolgeville, Michelle and Joseph Putney of Newport, Tina and John Kelly of Canajoharie, his Brothers Arthur Comstock Jr. of Little Falls Roselle Comstock of Little Falls, Larry Comstock of Salisbury, and Sidney Comstock of Salisbury, a Sister Virginia Sherman of Gloversville, his Companion Nelda Cheney with whom he lived, his Grandchildren-Jeremy, Charles, Matthew, Nicole, Ashley, Rachael, Kevin Jr., Ryan, Crystal, Kyle, Kaitlynne, Nicholas, John, Veronica, Anthony, and Cheyenne, several great Grandchildren, and Nieces and Nephews, and his canine companion “Shotize”. Calling Hours are on Monday December 15, 2008 from 4-6 PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Spring Burial services with Military Honors will be in the Dibble – Tuttle Cemetery, Town of Salisbury at a time to be announced. Memorials may be sent to the Stratford Senior Citizens in his memory.
