Obituary of Ronald Cool

EPHRATAH/ST. JOHNSVILLE- On Wednesday morning, July 23rd, 2008 surrounded by his loving family members and Catskill Hospice Care, Ronald LeRoy Cool, 86 of the town of Ephratah entered into eternal sleep peacefully in the comfort of his daughters home in the town of Middlefield Center. He was born on December 18, 1921 in Dolgeville, son of the late LeRoy and Mable (Rogers) Cool and graduated from St. Johnsville High School.He was a proud United States Veteran serving with the United States Army enlisting on July 20, 1942 and received an honorable discharge on November 2, 1945 in Pine Camp, NY. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Medal, and 1 Bronze Service Star. Mr. Cool was last employed as a dyer with Palatine Dye, St. Johnsville and was of the Protestant Faith. Mr. Cool loved music and especially blue grass music. In his spare time he enjoyed watching professional wrestling and the WWE. Most importantly, he was a wonderful and loving provider to his entire family. He put the needs of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren above his own and went above and beyond. The eighty six years he spent with them was a true testament to the wonderful person he truly was and he will be deeply missed. Survivors include his loving family; his son and daughter in law: Craig Smith and wife Rose of Dolgeville; his daughter and son in law: Mary Hart and husband Olin of Middlefield Center, nine cherished grandchildren: Lilian, Tanya, James, Craig, Jr., Stephen, Jeffrey, Olin III, Cassie and Melissa; his adored great grandchildren: Bryan, Aaron, Sasha, Eriana, Alyssa, Olin IV, Kevin Jr., Madison, James, Jr. and Stephen, Jr. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother: Everett Cool and by a sister Betty Cool. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home (St. Johnsville) on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. Mr. Cool's funeral will commence at 9 am on Saturday, July 26, 2008 from the funeral home with Joseph Bokel, Chaplain of Catskill Hospice, officiating. Funeral procession will follow to Ephratah Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Military honors will be offered by the United States Army with a gun salute provided by members of the Fort Plain VFW Color Guard. The family "cannot say enough" about the wonderful care that was given to Ronald during his illness from Catskill Hospice.
