Obituary of Oscar Day

UTICA/ILION-Mr. Oscar F. Day, 68, currently of London Towers, Ilion, a longtime Utican, passed away on Friday morning, October 24, 2008 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica following a brief illness. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Syracuse, son of the late Arvine and Fara (Foster) Day and educated in Syracuse schools. He resided in Utica before coming to Ilion three weeks ago. On August 10, 1984, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann DeCarlo in Utica; a union of 24 years. Oscar was formerly employed by General Electric, Utica. Survivors include his wife Carol of Ilion; his step-children: Jamie Rudwall and wife Julie of Ilion, William Rudwall and wife Alice of Hamilton, two brothers: Jerry Day and wife Mildred Louise of Syracuse and Robert Day and wife Louise also of Syracuse; two sisters: Violet Chaffee of Syracuse and Pauline Hayden of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren: Morgan, Isabelle, Jake and Cassandra Rudwall and Jasmine Lewis; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother: Arnold Day and by a sister. There are no calling hours. Services will take place at the convenience of the family. The Enea Family Funeral Home, between Ilion and Frankfort, is honored to serve the Day family.
