Obituary of Pamela DeCarr

MOHAWK - Pamela J. "Pam" (Phetterplace) DeCarr, 35, of State Highway 28, town of German Flatts, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, December 6, 2008. At the time of her passing which occurred in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, she had the support of her family by her side. She was born in Ilion on July 19, 1973 daughter of Charles and Harriet (Hectus) Phetterplace of Mohawk. Pam graduated from Mohawk High School and furthered her education attending Mohawk Valley Community College, later attending Oswego State University and finally receiving a Master's Degree in teaching from Syracuse University. She was a lifelong Mohawk resident. On July 5, 1997, she was united in marriage with Frank DeCarr in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer with Father Peter Nabozny, officiating. Pam was currently employed as a 9th grade science teacher with Mt. Markham Central School District where she was also National Honor Society Chairwoman. She was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. Over the course of her highly respected teaching career, Mrs. DeCarr always served her co-workers and students with a loyal dedication that reflected the compassion, goodness, and love in her own benevolent heart. Just as in her professional life, Pam dedicated herself wholeheartedly and lovingly to her entire family. She will be sadly missed.
