Obituary of Gloria Fellows

Frankfort: Gloria M. (Lehner) Fellows, 86, a native of Utica and longtime Frankfort resident, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 06, 2008. Mrs. Fellows was born on October 16, 1921 in Utica, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Peek) Lehner. She was a graduate of Proctor High School. Gloria married DeWitt Clinton Fellows on June 15, 1943, a devoted union of 35 years before his passing on June 3, 1978. Mrs. Fellows was a nurse’s aid and healthcare companion and her last employment was with the Martin Luther Home in Clinton. During the war, she worked at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort and was a member of its Altar Rosary Society. Prior to moving to Frankfort, she was a member for many years of Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica, and she was a member of its Rosary Society, as well. Gloria was blessed with a very close and loving family and leaves behind eight children and their families: Patricia and Thomas Reilly of Syracuse, Suzan and Thomas Angier of Utica, Judith and Foster (Guy) Butts and Sandra and Frank Zalatan of Frankfort, Richard and Linda Fellows of Oneida, Michael and Pamela Fellows and Dennis and Beverly Fellows of Utica, and Regina Giacovelli of Frankfort. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special niece and nephew, Marlene Crescenzo and Raymond Haley. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Lynn Angier and great-grandson, Noah Fellows and 13 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Fellows’ funeral will commence on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 9:15 am with a prayer service at Enea Family Funeral Home, with procession to Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Alfred Lamanna at 10:00 a.m., assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Ilion and Frankfort on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made at the funeral parlor to the National Parkinson Foundation; envelopes will be available, as well.
