Obituary of Roger Garlock

MOHAWK-Mr. Roger B. Garlock, 60, of 150 Robinson Road, Mohawk, town of German Flatts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, January 9, 2008 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. He was born on April 20, 1947 in Mohawk, son of the late Marion (Huckabone) Garlock and educated in West Canada Valley Schools. He spent his working career truck driving for the Herkimer County Highway Department and later Spohns Disposal. He was of the Methodist faith and was a former member of the West Winfield Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include his children: Carolyn Lehtonen of Hannibal, George Garlock of Syracuse, Jennifer Courtwright and husband James of Wampsville and Luke Gage and girlfriend Lisa Brown of Ilion; eight grandchildren; three sisters: Donna Wilson and husband Timothy of Ilion, Wanda Dougherty and fianc?e Donald Lindsay of Ilion, Debora Cimo and husband Frank of Ilion; a brother: Dale Huckabone of Middleville; two special aunts: Pearl Miller of Mohawk and Ruby Willoughby of Middleville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Marion; his grandmother: Lottie Garlock and by a special aunt, Florence Santmire. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, on Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. and also invited to attend his funeral service that will commence at 7 p.m., following calling hours in the funeral home with Jerry Buck, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mohawk Cemetery. The family would like to offer their gratitude to the caring staff of Hospice Care, Inc. for all they have done.
