Obituary of Dorothy Giaquinto

Dorothy Giaquinto, 83, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Monday March 10, 2008 at St. Luke?s Hospital, New Hartford, NY. She was born December 30, 1924 in St. Johnsville, NY, the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Huk) Perih, and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School. She furthered her education by receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse at Mt. Sinai School for Nursing. Her marriage to Carmen Giaquinto took place on April 10, 1948 in New York City. The couple shared a blessed union of 52 years until the passing of Mr. Giaquinto on December 14, 2000. Mrs. Giaquinto was last employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie as an Industrial Nurse. At one time she worked at Little Falls Hospital. Dorothy was a member of St. Patrick?s Church and its Alter Rosary Society. She also belonged to the St. Johnsville Business Girls, Red Hat Society and the Catholic Daughters. Dorothy was a woman that centered her life around her family proving herself a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughters, JoAnn Giaquinto of Atlanta, Georgia, and Janet Beyer and husband Raymond of Fort Plain, a brother, Walter Perih of New Jersey, a sister, Mary Perih of New York City, two grandchildren, William C. Beyer and Adam Beyer, and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and many special friends. She was pre-deceased by a sister Josie Costas and a brother, Charles Perih. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13, 2008 at 10:30 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY and at 11:00 am from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Spring interment will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday March 12, 2008 from 5-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to S.A.V.A.C. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
