Obituary of James W Griffin

LITTLE FALLS-James "Jim" W. Griffin of Little Falls passed away peacefully on Monday evening November 24, 2008 in the comfort of his home. Jim was born on May 27, 1948 in Attleboro, MA. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield, MA. Jim was a proud United States Marine who served his country during the Vietnam War. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on June 23, 1966 and was honorably discharged on April 10, 1969. He held the rank of Sgt., and continued service to his country in the Reserves. As an honor to Jim's heroic service he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was last employed in the maintenance department with Little Falls Hospital. On June 27, 1989 Jim was united in marriage with Cynthia Alguire in Rockport, MA. Survivors include his wife Cynthia Griffin of Little Falls; his mother Jean Griffin of Falmouth, MA.; a son Aaron Griffin of Little Falls; a step-son Samuel Harkins and his wife Jennifer of Ct; a brother Norman Griffin and his wife Carol of Bellingham, MA; a sister Sandy Ferreio and her husband Mike of Mashpee, MA.; two step grandchildren Ava and Jacob Harkins; his mother and father in law Betty and Robert Alguire of Little Falls; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Norman Griffin. There are no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Little Falls (823-2424). Final inurnment will take place in the spring in Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
