FRANKFORT-Mrs. Lucy P. (Teso) Grizzuto, 88, of First Avenue, Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. At the time of her passing she had the love, comfort and support of her family at her bedside. Lucy was born in Herkimer on January 21, 1920, daughter of the late Chris and Ann Marie (Cappabianco) Teso and educated in Herkimer schools. She has resided in Frankfort since 1940. On July 27, 1940, she married George (Grates) Grizzuto in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer, a blessed union of 64 years until his passing on November 10, 2004. They were a loving and devoted couple who were committed to each other and the life they shared together and offered the same commitment to each of their family members. She was last employed by UNIVAC and formerly employed by Derby Sportswear, Herkimer, Singers in Frankfort, General Electric in Utica and also by the Daniel Green Shoe Factory, Dolgeville. Lucy found comfort and devotion in the Catholic faith and was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Frankfort. Mrs. Grizzuto was a woman who dealt with life in a positive manner, even throughout the period of her illness, she has provided her family and friends with an inspiring example of inner strength and extraordinary courage. Because her greatest happiness was in making people happy, she was always thinking of others and finding ways to help them or enhance their lives. Always a family-oriented individual, Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; in recent years her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center and heart of her life. She enjoyed nothing more than when she was in the company of her loved ones at family gatherings and events. One of the most important ways that Lucy showed her generosity was through the numerous wonderful meals that she put on the table for her entire family to enjoy. She had a heart of gold and also volunteered many hours to the March of Dimes. Mrs. Grizzuto and her husband were outstanding dancers and never missed an opportunity to do so. She loved life, her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving family; two sons, Joseph Grizzuto and wife Barbara of Ogdensburg and George Grizzuto and wife Janet of Frankfort, a daughter Ann Marie Oliver and husband Joseph Anthony of Ilion, a sister, Antoinette Ferrucci of Herkimer, six beloved grandchildren, Lori Foster and husband Greg, Michael Grizzuto and friend Jean, Christopher Grizzuto and wife Renee, Daniel and Mike Oliver and Melissa Rocco and husband Anthony, ten adored great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, inlaws, Pauline Grates Polizzi, and Mary Teso. She was predeceased by a brother, Joe Teso and by four infant sisters. The Grizzuto family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home of Frankfort, (4309 Acme Rd., 894-8000) on Friday, July 4, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. The Young at Heart Senior Citizens will pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Mrs. Grizzuto's funeral will commence at 8:45 am on Saturday, July 5th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 9:30 from Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus. Funeral procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery where committal prayers will be offered in All Souls Chapel. In lieu of floral tributes, kindly consider memorial offerings to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society; envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home and donations may be made there as well.
