Obituary of Richard Kiddney

MOHAWK - Richard H. Kiddney, 93, formerly of 117 Kiddney Road, Mohawk, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Folts Home, Herkimer. He was born on Dec. 20, 1914, in Ilion, the son of Harry E. and Lena (Lambert) Kiddney and graduated from Little Falls High School in 1933. On Dec. 14, 1938, Richard was married to June Dekanek at the Little Falls Lutheran Church. She died on June 9, 1991. Mr. Kiddney was the plant manager at H.P. Snyder MFG Co. Inc., Little Falls for 43 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, Little Falls Lodge 181 F&AM (over 50 years), Camp Outlet Club Inc. (Red Camp) in Noblesboro, N.Y., and AARP. His interests included hunting, fishing and raising dogs. Mr. Kiddney supported many Mohawk Valley community activities. Richard?s smile was infectious, His life touched countless people through his daily activities. He will be remembered always in the hearts of his loved ones. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard and Mari Kiddney of Lakewood, Colo., Gary Kiddney of Mohawk; two grandsons, Gary Kiddney II of Troy and Darin Kiddney and his wife Sherry of Frankfort; four granddaughters, Michelle Zehnle and husband Dennis of Castle Rock, Colo., Dr. Renee Richker and husband Dr. Jeff of Golden, Colo., Jennifer Kiddney of Lakewood, Colo., Merrilyn Heron and husband Mike of Little Falls; five great-granddaughters, Kelcie Heron of Little Falls, Mia Richker of Golden, Colo., Briana Terrazas of Lakewood, Colo., Karlie Heron of Little Falls, Riley Zehnle of Castle Rock, Colo.; four great grandsons, Dylon Kiddney of Frankfort, Rocco Zehnle of Castle Rock, Colo., Harley Richker of Golden, Colo., Michael Heron of Little Falls; two nieces, Nancy Bishal and Donna Ray; two nephews, Harry Kiddney and Paul Dekanek; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, his daughter-in-law Bonnie Kiddney, three brothers, Gorden, Harry and Donald, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at Applegate-Day & Enea Funeral Home, Ilion.
