Obituary of Fred Lawyer

FORT PLAIN - Mr. Fred M. Lawyer, 86, of Bridge St.,entered into eternal rest on Sunday August 17, 2008 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. He was born April 29,1922 In Hartford NY, son of the late Peter and Clara (Vincent) Lawyer. On May 27, 1950 he was joined in marriage with Shirley Dingman. At the age of 20, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. For over 20 Years he was employed with Beech Nut in Canajoharie. He was also employed at Palatine Dye for many years. In 2001 Fred received his High School Diploma through "Operation Recognition Program". He received this award for his honorable service of his country in WWII. He sacrificed the completion of his education and the comfortable surroundings of his home to proudly serve his country. Survivors include his beloved family; his wife of 58 years Shirley; two sons Frederick "Rick" Lawyer and wife Linda of St. Johnsville, Dennis Lawyer and his wife Michelle Of Germantown; three daughters Dawn Nourse and her companion Steve Hentnik of Oppenheim, Judy Kalinowski and her husband Alan of Fort Plain and Lisa Evans and her husband Stanley of Boonville; 13 cherished grandchildren; Shelley Lawyer, Kim Phillips(Bob), Robert Lawyer (Natasha),Adom Lawyer, J'mie Lawyer, Anjolea Lawyer,Pamela Nourse (Jim Farrington),Alison Kriner(David),Jordan Kalinowski (Alicia Johnston),Brianne Dobreski (Ed),Nastassia Evans, Alyssa Evans, Joshua Evans and Michael Hentnik and 14 cherished great grandchildren; Mackenzie Lawyer,Shane Hastings,Kaylin Phillips,Justin Phillips,Kyle Lawyer,Trenton Lawyer,Amber Lawyer,Becky Lawyer,Courtney Benson, Tori Ackler,Caitlin Ackler, Emily Kriner, MaryAnne Dobreski, Alex Dobreski, Tim Johnston, Keagan Johnston and Jim Farrington Jr.; three sisters Marie Collins of Oxford, Theresa (her husband Don) Bowers of Oppenheim and Wilma (her husband Charles) Stowell Openheim and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Thelma Dingman and by his brother, Robert Lawyer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, (St Johnsville) from 5-8 pm on Wednesday August 20, 2008. Mr. Lawyer's funeral will commence 11 am Thursday, August 21 from the chapel of the funeral home where a prayer service will be offered by the Rev. Kenneth Dingman. Procession will follow to Freysbush Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest and military honors will be offered by the U.S. Army. Kindly consider memorial contributions in Fred's name to SAVAC.
