Obituary of Linda Linscott

ILION-Linda L. Linscott, 65, of Acme Rd., (Shady Creek Estates), entered into eternal rest early Sunday morning, December 7, 2008 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Utica from liver complications. She was born on December 26, 1942 in Madison, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Elbert and Margaret J. (Long) Linscott and educated Farmingdale, Long Island. She was last employed for over 24 years with Herkimer County Social Services as a computer operator and also worked part-time at Wal-Mart in Herkimer. Linda generously and selflessly provided her loved ones with unassuming and attentive dedication, willingly committing herself to their needs, their interests and their happiness. She herself was never happier than when she was in the company of her grandchildren. She was admired and will be missed by family and friends alike for her respect for others. Survivors include her beloved children and families: Ronald Mauro of Mohawk and his children: Zachariah and Ryan Mauro; Michael Mauro and wife Donna of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and their children: Brianna, Myles, Nicholas and Jessica; and Kathleen Mauro of Mohawk and her children: Justin and Alexa Gookins; her brother: William "Bill" Linscott of Middleville; an aunt: Kathryn Moore of Florida and an uncle: Bill Linscott and wife Ida of Long Island; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Dennis and Ronald Linscott. The family offers its sincere gratitude to the staff at the Intensive Care Unit of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica especially mentioning Cindy: the conscientious, kind and caring manner in which they treated Linda and her family was of great support and comfort. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000 on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. and also invited to attend her funeral which will commence at the conclusion of visitation at the funeral home with the Rev.
