Obituary of Miroslav Nerad

FRANKFORT-Mr. Miroslav V. ?Mike? Nerad Sr., 63, of Joslin Hill Road, town of Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 of heart failure. He was born on December 9, 1944 in Tabor, Czechoslovakia. He proudly served with the Czechoslovakia Air Force and came to America in 1965. He married Nina Star on September 25, 1966 in Spring Valley, NY. Miroslav was an airline pilot for numerous airline companies for over 25 years. He was last employed with Birinie Bus, Rome and attended the Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for over 40 years, National Rifle Association and was a proud, honorary member of the Air Force Association. Mr. Nerad was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working around his home and was a mechanical genius. A very smart man, he undertook any project with determination and dedication. His family and friends will forever remember the times they spent with him. Survivors include his beloved wife Nina at home; a son: Miroslav V. Nerad, Jr., and wife Wendy of Dover, Delaware; a grandson: Michael P. Nerad; a sister: Zdena Plachyova and husband George of Roztoky, Prauge, Czech. Republic; three sisters in law: Zina Olsen and husband Walter of Jordanville, Valentina Flannery and husband Joseph of Milmay, NJ and Sonia Griszenkow and husband Gene of Marlton, NJ; many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by a sister: Lenyer. There are no public calling hours. Services will take place at the convenience of the family at Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville with burial to take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Funeral preparations are being provided by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Frankfort and Ilion, (894-8000).
