Obituary of Carlo Pietropaoli

LITTLE FALLS-Mr. Carlo ?Charles? Pietropaoli, 91 of Flint Ave., went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, July 7, 2008 in Van Allen?s Nursing Home, following a very brief illness. At the time of his passing he had the love of his family at his side. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 4, 1916, son of the late Umberto and Adele (Bisceglia) Pietropaoli and graduated from Herkimer High School. He was raised in Herkimer but lived the greater part of his life in Little Falls. On November 17, 1951, he was united in marriage with Agatha Verri in St. Joseph?s Church, Little Falls and the couple recently celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage.He enlisted into the United States Army on April 24, 1942 and served in the Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged on December 22, 1945 holding the rank of Tech Fifth Grade. Charles was last employed with Sperry Univac in Utica as an electronic technician and also worked in Ilion with Remington Rand. He was at one time employed with Standard Furniture, Herkimer. He was of the Catholic Faith. Family was an important factor in Charles? life, and he was always attentive to the needs of his loved ones and supportive to them in every way. In regard to his personality, he was a great guy and possessed an unselfish nature. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the clarinet and saxophone and especially listening to big band music. His sense of humor was infectious and loved hearing and telling jokes. Survivors include his loving and devoted family: his wife Agatha ?Aggie? at home; his daughter: Marie Pietropaoli of Little Falls; his brother: Victor Pietropaoli and wife Mary of Land O' Lakes, Fl.; a sister: Ida Bell of Herkimer; in laws: Tony and Barbara Verri, Jean Lonis and Joan Lasher; many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, one great great nephew, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Olga Caliguire and Lydia Masscaro. There are no public calling hours. Charles? funeral will be held at the convenience of the family and he will be laid to rest in St. Mary?s Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
