Obituary of Stella Politylo

BOONVILLE/HERKIMER-Mrs. Stella (Widay) Politylo, 81, formerly of Herkimer, most recently of Boonville, passed away on Christmas Day in Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville. She was born on Feb. 11, 1927 in Poland, NY daughter of the late John and Anna (Krol) Widay and educated in Poland school. She attended the Utica School of Beauty. On May 21, 1949 she was united in marriage with John Politylo in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer with the Rev. Vincent A. Nowak, officiating. Mr. Politylo passed away in 1994. For many years, Stella owned and operated Stel's Beauty Shop on King Street in Herkimer. She attended Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Survivors include two daughters: Karen Cady and husband David of Boonville and Gail Molchen of Mohawk; two brothers: Theodore "Ted" Widay and wife Charlotte of Herkimer and Frank Widay and wife Jane of New York Mills; two sisters: Josephine Bogdan and husband Stanley of Marcy and Jane Sabik of Yorkville; a sister in law: Millie Pupchek of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister: Bernice Pawloski and three brothers: Andrew, Joseph and Michael Widay. Stella's funeral will commence at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer with Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
