Obituary of Stella Potzner

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Stella Potzner, 92, of 8531 State Route 28, Richfield Springs, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 2, 2008. She was born on Aug. 31, 1915 in Herkimer, the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Kulczycka) Panko and attended Mohawk schools. She was married to William Potzner, who died in 1986. Stella and her husband owned and operated Potzner?s Market in Richfield Springs for about 25 years, retiring in 1973. She loved gardening, needlepoint, crafts and antiquing. Survivors include her sister, Mary Zito of Marathon, Fla.; her nephew, Chuck Panko and his wife Maria of Frankfort and his daughter, Ashley Harrington of Mohawk; several other nieces and nephews including Clark and Marsha Whitney of Ann Arbor, Mich. She was predeceased by three bothers, Charles Panko II, Russell and Rudy Panko; one sister, Molly Whitney; and her brother-in-law, Jack Zito. In keeping with her wishes there will no formal calling hours or funeral services at this time. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
