ILION-Darrell L. Price, 63, of 268 Otsego St., Ilion, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare, New Hartford, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 1, 1944 in Ilion, the son of George and Evelyn (Prue) Price, and attended Mohawk Schools. On June 25, 1966, he was married to Carol Cole in Bennington, VT. Darrell was a machine operator and later a foreman at Remington Arms Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was the union President for four terms. Survivors include his wife Carol, three sons, Darrell C. Price and wife Brenda of Ilion, Kevin Jette and wife Michelle of Conn., Scott Jette and his wife Dolores, Fl.; one daughter, Cindy Yager and husband Perley of Ilion; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers and two sister-in-laws, George and Marilyn Price of Cedarville, Danny Price of Ilion, John and Charlotte Price of Mohawk; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eleanor Kutulas of Utah, Beverly and Richard Maziarz of Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother and father. Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion with Dr. Gary Hopson officiating. Calling hours are Monday, 4 p.m.-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, as a expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or Herkimer County Humane Society.
