Obituary of Nicholas J Sanzo

LITTLE FALLS-Mr. Nicholas J. "Nick" Sanzo, 65, of Sherman St., passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 20, 2008 in Little Falls Hospital. He was born on January 27, 1943 in Herkimer, son of the late Nicholas and Louise (Lambert) Sanzo and graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. Nick was a Vietnam veteran proudly serving his country with the United States Army from May 2, 1966 and was honorably discharged on February 6, 1968. On February 19, 1977 he was united in marriage with Sheila Flottman in Little Falls. He was last employed by LaSalle Labs, Little Falls in the manufacturing plant and was formerly employed by various retail stores. At one time he owned and operated Video Visions and Four Season Sports. Nick attended the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Little Falls DeCarlo Staffo Post. Survivors include his wife Sheila at home; three sons: Michael Sanzo and wife Lisa of Little Falls, Jim Sanzo and Brigid Jones of Ilion and Paul Scanlon and wife Ann of Seattle, Washington; a daughter: Lesley Sanzo and Chad Riesel of Herkimer; a brother: Joseph "Bill" Sanzo and wife Kim of Nashua, New Hampshire; four grandchildren: Andrea Sanzo, Amber Sanzo, Ashley Sanzo and Chris DeLine and wife Sue; in laws: Dennis and Debbie Flottman; aunts and uncles including Joseph Lambert of Mohawk who was very close to Nick. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his faithful canine companion, Joshua. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home (Little Falls) on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. Nick's funeral will commence at 9:15 am on Friday, May 23rd from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home and at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Gansevoort St., Little Falls with the Rev. Ann Zimmerman, officiating. Funeral procession will follow to Church St. Cemetery, Little Falls where Nick will be laid to rest. The United States Army will present military honors. Kindly consider memorial contributions in Nick's name to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church; envelopes may be obtained at the funeral parlor.
