Obituary of Julia L Sekel

DANUBE-Mrs. Julia L. Sekel, 77, of Bellinger Rd., Ft. Plain, (town of Danube), passed away on Wednesday evening, April 23, 2008 in Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse after a brief illness. She was born on December 5, 1930 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Ernest and Julia (Harwick) Primmer and graduated from Ilion High School. She was united in marriage to Joseph Sekel, Jr., in 1951. He passed away on September 6, 1975. Mrs. Sekel was last employed with the New York State Thruway Authority at the Little Falls rest stop in the gift store. She was of the Catholic faith and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her children: Joseph Sekel, III and wife Janeen, Robert Sekel and fianc?e Karen Schafer, and James Sekel all of Danube; her grandchildren: Joseph Sekel, IV of Florida, Jason and Jack Sekel of Danube and James Ernest Sekel of Herkimer; a great granddaughter: Alanna Sekel of Herkimer; brothers: Ernest Primmer and wife Elizabeth of Ilion, Charles Primmer and wife Jackie of Ilion, and Richard Primmer and wife Christine of Barneveld; two sisters: Rosamond Doxtader of Herkimer and Gloria Watts and husband James of Ilion; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother: Warren Primmer and by her parents. The funeral will commence at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls with Father Anthony Ligato, pastor of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and Sts. Anthony and Josephs Church, Herkimer officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., prior to the service on Saturday. Procession will follow to St. Mary?s Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the American Cancer Society, envelopes may be obtained at the funeral parlor for this purpose. The Sekel family offers their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of both Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown and Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse for their kindness and compassion.
