ILION-Mrs. Marcia Ann (Miller) Smith, 61, of West Clark St., Ilion passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 29, 2008 in her home. She was born on January 8, 1947 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Henry and Lucy Miller and educated in Ilion schools. Her marriage to her husband of 42 years, Ronald Smith, Sr., took place on November 26, 1966 in the Ilion Methodist Church. Marcia worked as a homemaker for many years taking wonderful care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She was at one time employed at the Empire Diner, Herkimer. Survivors include her beloved family who she loved dearly; her husband Ronald of Ilion; two daughters: Patricia Bennett and husband Dale of Ilion and Bobbie Jo Smith of Turin; a son: Ronald Smith, Jr., and wife Amy of Mohawk; eight brothers and sisters: George Miller and wife Linda of Little Falls, Susan Reed of Florida, Donald Miller and wife Linda of Little Falls, Ralph Miller and wife Mildred of Little Falls, Beverly Gloskey and husband Richard of Canajoharie, Harold Miller of Florida, Jack Miller and wife Lisa Volk of Herkimer, and Pam Miller of Florida; her cherished grandchildren: Dale Jr., Amanda, Lisa, Shane, Samantha, Desiree, Steven, Jennifer, Garry Jr., Andrew, Journey, Drake, Colton, Shaylynn, Logan and Tamra and Tanya; her adored great grandchildren: Dale III, Zachary, Cory, Carlee, Raelynn and Mia; in-laws: Walter Smith and wife Lily of Mohawk and Elizabeth Kennedy of Ilion; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother: Richard Miller. Mrs. Smith's funeral will commence at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008 from the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion with the Rev. Victor McKusick, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Ilion officiating. Procession will follow to Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion where she will be laid to rest. Calling hours will be from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Ilion.
