Richard K. Snell, 81, of Twin Church Road, St. Johnsville, NY, passed away on Friday April 4, 2008 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born December 15, 1926 in Canajoharie, NY the son of the late Bennie K and Bertha Mae (Bronk) Snell and was educated in Oppenheim ? Ephratah School. His marriage to Barbara Hoffert on November 28, 1953 in Newport, NY. Richard was last employed in the Bus Garage, Maintenance for Oppenheim ? Ephratah School District through Green Thumb. For over 50 years he worked on the family farm on Twin Church Road in Crum Creek. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara, four daughters, Susan Race and husband James of St. Johnsville, Teresa Sammons and husband Wyatt of Oppenheim, Mary Luck and husband Eddison of Stone Arabia, and Sarah Chapman and husband Thomas of St. Johnsville, two brothers, Kenneth Snell and wife Sharon of Herkimer, and Millard Snell and wife Martha of Nelliston, four sisters, Sarah Lyons of Randall, NY, Viola Lyons of Oppenheim, Betty Flint and husband Robert of Canajoharie and Bonnie Greenburg of St. Johnsville, 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Wilcox and husband William, Marcia Rider, Melissa Rider and fiancee Jason Herringshaw, Tonya Sammons and Richard Sammons, Jessica Luck and Courtney Luck, Shawna, Danielle and Ashley Chapman, and a great grandchild, Kaitlyn Herringshaw, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Carol Smith and three granddaughters, Christine Rider, Kelley & Korin Chapman. Memorial services will be held on Thursday April 10, 2008 at 1:00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY. Family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the services. Spring burial will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. All memorial contributions may be made to S.A.V.A.C or a charity of one?s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
