Obituary of Eleanor Stovall

MOHAWK-ILION - Eleanor "Grama" M. Stovall, age 74, of 6 Canal St., Mohawk, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at home after a brief illness. She was born on November 22, 1933, in Mohawk, the daughter of Roy and Lucy DeLude, and attended Mohawk schools. On June 24, 1951, she was married to Frank E. Stovall in Mohawk. He died on October 5, 1999. Eleanor was a waitress at Frankie's Chinese Steakhouse, Syracuse, and most recently at Denny's in Herkimer. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and going to casinos. Eleanor also liked playing cards on Saturday nights and bridge on Tuesdays. Survivors include her son, Lee Stovall and his husband, Tom Ingle, of Mohawk; four grandchildren, Jeremy Stovall, of Saugus, MA, Jason Stovall, of Ocala, FL, and Katie and Christopher Ingle, of Hanover, MA; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, including Grover Trumbauer, of Hampton, VA; best friend, Charlotte Cuda, of Ilion; and dear friend, Amanda Meeker, of Mohawk. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Trumbauer and Shirley DeLude, and her parents. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Rev. Victor McKusick officiating. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday, 2-4 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
