Obituary of Jeremiah Sullivan

ILION-Jeremiah J. "Jerry" Sullivan, Sr., age 58, of Forge Hill Estates, Ilion passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 17, 2008 from heart complications. He was born on December 29, 1949 in Herkimer son of the late Bernard J. and Olga Sullivan and graduated with the Herkimer High School, "Class of 1968." He then went on and graduated from Alfred University. The couple moved to Ilion eleven years ago. His marriage to Pamela K. Nolan took place in 1970 at St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. Mrs. Sullivan passed away on July 13, 2005. Jerry was employed for over thirty years with Grossman's Bargain Outlet where he was store manager. He was most recently employed with Lowe's Home Improvement, Utica. Because of his many talents, Jerry was very successful in his field of expertise. He was a hard worker who took on projects with pride and determination. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who treasured his family above all else. He is survived by a daughter: Kathleen "Kate" Kurdziolek and husband Mark of Streator, Ill; a son: Jeremiah Sullivan, Jr. and wife Holly of Stroudsburgh Pa.; four sisters: Mary Sullivan of Albany, Patty Sutch of Utica, Veronica Sportello and husband Louis of Herkimer, and Maureen Harrer and husband Joseph of Herkimer; three sisters in law: Karen Grande and husband James of Georgia; Deborah Nolan of Cassville, NY and Jody Joslin and husband Paul of Newport; six adored grandchildren: Kyle, Colin, Ian, Jeremiah, III., Jacob and Johnathan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and cousins. In respecting Jerry's final wishes, there will be no public visitation. The family will gather privately to say goodbye. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham from St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer on Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 11am. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, will follow. The family is being served by the Enea Family Funeral Home.
