Obituary of Anne Urtz

ILION-Mrs. Anne M. (McCann) Urtz, 87, of 80 E. North St., Ilion, passed away on Sunday evening, Sept. 7, 2008 peacefully in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. Anne was born on July 20, 1921 in Ilion, daughter of the late John Aloysous and Margaret (Fullem) McCann and graduated with the Frankfort High School "Class of 1938". She also attended the Professional School for Medical Technology in Utica. Her marriage to Bernard Urtz took place in 1971 in Annunciation Church, Ilion. Mr. Urtz passed away in 1983. She was last employed with Ilion Hospital as a Lab/X-Ray Technician and was employed at one time with Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. Anne was a dedicated communicant of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to music and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Urtz was a loving and caring woman who adored her loved ones. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include her sister: Margaret "Peg" Bocchino and husband Armond "Andy" of Ilion and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers: John and Frank McCann and by a sister: Mary Timlin. The family will gather privately to say goodbye. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anne's Mass of Christian Burial which will commence at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from the Church of the Annunciation, West Street in Ilion assisted by Deacon Jim Bower. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bernard. In Anne's honor, kindly consider memorial offerings to the Annunciation Church, Ilion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral parlor and at the church service.
