Obituary of Jean Agne

Mrs. Jean Helen Agne 81 a resident of Van Allen Nursing Home since February 2006 and formerly of Parkside Courts Dolgeville, died Monday morning February 19, 2007 at the nursing home. Jean was born in Dolgeville on February 26, 1925 the daughter of Daniel and Leta (Hays) Darrow and attended Dolgeville schools. Jean was first married to Joseph Paul in 1946 and he has predeceased her. She then married Grant Agne on December 31, 1971 in Dolgeville; they recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. She was employed by area shoe companies throughout her working years, including the Daniel Green Company, the Eastern Footwear Company and Tricot Company all of Dolgeville. Jean retired from the former Allegro Shoe of Little Falls several years ago. Jean was an avid bowler belonging to several area bowling leagues, including the Canajoharie Bowling Association, and was also a viable softball player playing for the Mohawk Valley Team, where she played on the state level and was on the State Championship Team. Personally Jean loved children and could always be found ?babysitting? neighbors children on several occasions. She is survived by her husband Grant, her sons Jonathan Allan Paul of Schenectady and Jerome Daniel Paul of Utica, Her sister and her husband Bernice (Bunnie) and Henry Flood of Dolgeville her Brother and his wife Allan and Doris Darrow of Mass., her Grandchildren Brianna J. Paul and Jonathan A. Paul both of Schenectady, her nephews Allan and Ula Darrow and their son Christopher, Daniel Darrow and Matthew Flood. A memorial service will be held Friday February 23, 2007 at 3 PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Gertrude Ortlieb will offer prayer. Burial will be in the spring in the Middleville Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday afternoon from 1PM until the service at 3PM.
