Obituary of John Ashe

John J. Ashe, 35, of 37 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville passed away on Wednesday October 10, 2007. He was born February 23, 1972 in Little Falls the son of John A. Ashe and Lois J. (Stalnaker) Carter, and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1990. John furthered his education, by attending Morrisville College. John was last employed with the Village of Dolgeville. At one time had worked at North Hudson & Terico, and operated the Silvernail?s Gas Station in Dolgeville. Mr. Ashe was a member of St. Joseph?s Church in Dolgeville. As a youth, John enjoyed his paper route where he made many long lasting friends. An active outdoorsman, he loved the sport of golf and skiing and was an avid fan of boxing. John was a gentle and caring man who loved to spend time with his nephews, Jacob and Danny and relaxing with the family pet dog, Sheba. John had a unique and inquisitive interest in the history of World War II. In his leisure he enjoyed listening to music. Survivors include his mother, Lois J. Carter and step-dad, Harry J. (Bud) Carter of Dolgeville, his father, John A. Ashe and step-mom, Irene Ashe of Dolgeville, two brothers, Scott D. Ashe of Virginia Beach, VA., and David M. Carter of Sandusky, Ohio, two sisters, Barbara S. Beyer and husband Ethan of Rotterdam Junction, NY and Angela M. Ashe of Pittsburgh, PA., two nephews, Jacob and Danny Beyer, many cousins aunts & uncles. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 13, 2007 at 9:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY and at 10:00 am from St. Joseph?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Mark Cunningham. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home on Friday October 12, 2007 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to National Wildlife Federation, c/o 37 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY. Our beloved John will be greatly missed.
