Obituary of Edgar Bilger

Mr. Edgar Bilger 87 of 640 State Route 29A Salisbury Center, a resident of the Little Falls Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility since March 2004, died there on Tuesday October 16, 2007. He was born in the Town of Salisbury, on March 13, 1920 and was educated in the Red School House in the Town of Salisbury. His marriage to the former Lila Herringshaw took place on September 10, 1944 at the home of her parents in the Town of Salisbury. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. Edgar was employed by the North Hudson Woodcraft Company of Dolgeville, retiring several years ago. He was of the Methodist Faith, and his personal interests were in watching wrestling on TV and listening to country music on the radio. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving him is his wife Lila of 63 years, his sons and their wives Raymond and Joan Bilger of Salisbury Center, Albert and Frederica Johnson of Stratford, a Daughter Eleanor Mosher of Oppenheim, 11 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. Also Edgar and Lila raised 14 foster children throughout the years. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 19, 2007 at 2PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Joseph Albrecht, pastor of the Salisbury Center Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from Noon until the time of the service.
