Obituary of Mary Bisignani

Mary F. Bisignani, 80, a resident of Mohawk for more than 50 years, passed away at home Friday morning, March 9, 2007, with her loving children by her side. Mary was born July 13, 1926, in Frankfort, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lambert) Foglino, and her step-father, the late Frank Foglino. She attended Mohawk schools and graduated from Mohawk High School in 1943 as class salutatorian. On Feb. 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Vincent F. Bisignani at St. Joseph's Church in Herkimer, with Father Nowack officiating. They shared a blessed and devoted union of almost 40 years until Vincent's passing in 1990. Mary was employed as office manager in her husband Vincent's dental office, VF Bisignani DDS, in Herkimer, for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk, and at one time was a member of the Rosary Society. An avid reader, she was a member of the Friends of the Weller Library, and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She always loved cats. Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Survivors include her beloved children, Judith Glogowski and her husband Steve, of Mohawk, Michael Bisignani and his wife Cheryl, of Mohawk, and Mark Bisignani and his companion Sarah Steele, of Ilion; her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Glogowski and her companion Blair MacLeod, of Ithaca, Leah and Mark Gugino, of Spencer, and Bridget Kimble, of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas; one sister, Eleanor Catlin, of Mohawk; three nieces, Deborah Conant, of Texas, Julie and Wayne Fineout, of Oppenheim, and Dina and David Rajski, of Hamburg; and a special cousin, Charlotte Guido, of Atlanta. Mary's funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, commencing at 1 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, with the Rev. Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, this spring at a date and time to be announced. In keeping with Mary's wishes, there are no public calling hours. Mary's children wish to thank their Aunt Eleanor Catlin for all her love and support, and also Sister Mary Jo Tallman for the comfort she provided Mary during her illness. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Mary's name to the Weller Library or Community Action Program (CAP: Animal assistance affiliated with Little Falls YMCA).
