Obituary of Charles Boecke

HERKIMER - ILION - Charles ?Charlie? H. Boecke, 68, of Prescott Street, Herkimer, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born on March 22, 1939, in the Bronx, N.Y., the son of William and Caroline (Schellenberger) Boecke and attended schools in New York City and Connecticut. Charlie was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962. He married Linda Douglas on June 12, 2004, in Mohawk. At one time, he was a truck driver/mechanic for Ulmer Truck Lines. Most recently he was a truck driver at Dellwood Dairy, Fraizer, N.Y., for 16 years. Charlie enjoyed computers. Survivors include his wife, Linda; his step-daughter Sharleen Long and her husband Michael of Mohawk, step-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra and Michael Long, all of Mohawk; his step-son, Dana Gordon and his wife Christy of North Carolina, step-grandchildren, Valarie, Hailee and Hannah Gordon of North Carolina; step-son, Andrew Gordon of Ilion, step-grandchildren Michael and Makayla Gordon; children, Kevin, Charles Jr., Joseph, Theresa, Raymond, Steven, Donald, Henry, Timothy, Danny, John, Ronald, Jimmy and spouses, and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Ann Jean Boecke in October of 2001. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Linda wishes to extend a special thank you to Timmy, Kara, Barbara Janicki, Vicki Dickerson and my loving daughter Sharleen.
