Obituary of Gary Brown

LITTLE FALLS-Gary D. Brown, 56, of South William St., Little Falls, passed away on Monday morning, May 21, 2007 in Little Falls Hospital, after being stricken at home. He was born on January 12, 1951 in Mohawk, son of the late Lester Brown, Sr., and Betty (Cunningham) Brown. He was educated in Mohawk schools and attended Herkimer County Community College. His marriage to Michele Drapalski took place on June 23, 1973 in Sacred Heart Church, Little Falls. They would have celebrated 34 years of marriage this year. He was last employed by Lasalle Labratories in Little Falls. Gary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk and belonged to the United Polka League. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he was never happier then when surrounded by his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife: Michele of Little Falls; his children: Jennifer Synakowski and husband Tom of Holland Patent and Jason Brown and wife Trista of Utica; two brothers: Lester Brown, Jr. of Mohawk and Thomas Brown and wife Gloria of Mohawk; a sister: Donna Brown of Pinetop, Az.; four grandchildren: Katie, Chris and Hanna Synakowski and Isabella Brown; his mother in law: Anne Drapalski of Little Falls and in laws: Joel and Flora Drapalski of Maryland, Kerry and Marcy Drapalksi of Maryland, and Mark and Janet Drapalski of Ilion; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. Gary's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Thursday morning, May 24th from the chapel of the funeral home where a prayer service will take place and at 11 am from Blessed Sacrament Church, Main St., Mohawk where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, sacramental minister, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, parish life director. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where he will be laid to rest. Kindly consider memorial offerings to a charity of your choice. The family is deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff of Little Falls Hospital for their care and concern graciously offered. Also, a thanks to Father Mark Cunningham for administering final rites early Monday morning and for his spiritual guidance.
