Obituary of John Cacciatore

FRANKFORT-Mr. John Cacciatore, 90, formerly of South Frankfort St., most recently residing with his dedicated daughter and son in law Rose Mary and Dick Myers, 145 Litchfield Rd., Frankfort, passed into the hands of the Lord on Sunday morning, November 25, 2007 in the Siegenthaler Center, New Hartford. He was born on January 27, 1917 in Frankfort, son of the late Joseph and Rose Cacciatore and graduated from Ilion High School, ?Class of 1935?. His marriage to the former Mary Manno took place on November 25, 1944 in St. Mary?s Church, Frankfort. The couple shared a blessed union of 58 years until Mrs. Cacciatore?s passing on November 20, 2002. John was last employed as a polisher/grinder with Kelsey-Hayes/Drop Forge, Whitesboro. He was a member of the Assembly of God faith. In his spare time Mr. Cacciatore enjoyed coin collecting and hunting. A loving husband, father and grandfather, his family will always remember the kindness and thoughtfulness that he provided to each and every one of them. Survivors include his beloved family; his daughter and son in law, Rose Mary Myers and husband Richard of Frankfort; his son and daughter in law: Joseph J. Cacciatore and wife Lynda of Wappingers Falls; son in law: Jon A. Riddell of Port Orange, Fl; the greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren: Lorie Gates and husband Roy, Jon A. Riddell, II and wife Debbie, Catherine Cacciatore, Peter Cacciatore, Mary Cacciatore and John?s great grandchildren: Amanda Gates, Jessica Gates, Ashley Reed and Jon A. Riddell, III. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special work friend: Stan Piekielniak. John was predeceased by his daughter: Vincie Riddell on October 21st, 2007; by two brothers: Sam and Frank Cacciatore and by four sisters: Rose Nicolette, Madeline Salvaggio, Josie Puleo and Jennie Pileggi. There will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his funeral service commencing at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Frankfort and Ilion, 894-8000 with Mr. Cacciatore?s nephew, the Rev. Dave Pileggi, officiating. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort where committal service will take place. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider memorial contributions to Hospice/Palliative Care, Inc., or to the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department; envelopes and donations can be made at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following healthcare professionals for their tender love and care: Dr. Norman Freund, Hospice/Palliative Care, Inc., Siegenthaler Center, doctors, nurses and staff at Little Falls Hospital, At Home Care, Inc., and also to Karen Miers for her special friendship.
