Obituary of John Carter

MOHAWK - PHOENIX, Ariz. - John Erkki Stevenson Carter passed away peacefully on July 3, 2007, in Phoenix, Ariz. John, the oldest son of the late Paul N. and Taimi Carter of Mohawk was born in Boston, Mass., Aug. 21, 1948. He graduated from Mohawk High School, Class of 1966. There he proudly lettered in football and earned a National Merit Letter of Commendation. He completed his Bachelors in Psychology at Mitchell College. Additional credits he earned at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. John had a real passion for the radio industry. In his early years, he disc-jockeyed at local radio station WALY. Later he worked as a radio engineer and ultimately became a radio advertising salesman. Licensed as a real estate salesman, John was married and subsequently divorced to Doris Miller in Florida. His second marriage to Vivian Marie Thompson was blessed with a daughter, Jessica Marie Carter of Phoenix, Ariz., in June of 1983. John's favorite pastimes included electronics, music (guitar and piano), range target shooting and travel. Surviving is John's daughter, Jessica, of Arizona; aunt, Ruth Carter Hok of Utica; and sister, Leah R. Carter of Mohawk. He was predeceased by his brother, Scott L. Carter of Mohawk in 2001, his father and mother, Paul N. and Taimi E. Carter in 2006. At John's request no calling hours nor funeral services will take place.
