Obituary of Jeffrey Carter

Jeffrey A. Carter, 48, of 6596 State Highway 29, St. Johnsville passed away on Saturday December 1, 2007 at Little Falls Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 18, 1959 in Little Falls the son of Jacque and Joan (Perry) Carter. Jeff was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, obtained an Associates Degree from Herkimer County Community College and a Bachelor?s Degree in Biology from Empire State College. His marriage to Barbara Nagle took place on May 7, 1998 in the Bahamas. Jeff was last employed as plant manager for WW Custom Clad Co., in Canajoharie. Prior to that he worked for over 15 years for Sentinel. For many years, Jeff enjoyed coaching a variety of sports in St. Johnsville. Mr. Carter was a member of St. Joseph?s Church in Dolgeville. Jeff?s life was centered around his family, where he enjoyed his quality time. He treasured the time fishing with his son, Corey and playing golf with his son and brothers-in-law. Jeff enjoyed hunting with his brother, Jamie. An avid sportsman, Jeff was a great fan of the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Survivors include his father, Jacque Carter and step-mother, Sally Countryman of Fort Plain, his mother, Joan Carter of St. Johnsville, his wife Barbara and their adoring son Corey of Oppenheim, a daughter Amanda Stowell of Little Falls, a brother, James Carter and wife Melissa of St. Johnsville, two sisters, Jessica Gray and husband Robert of Chicago, Ill., and Jeanette Hannifin and husband Pat of Fort Plain, special uncle and aunt, Jan Carter and wife Gail of St. Johnsville, sons, Jeremy Carter and Jordan Carter both of St. Johnsville, his grandson, Kaleb Stowell, his mother-in-law, Karen Nagle of Little Falls, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2007 at 9:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY and at 9:30 am from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday December 4, 2007 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers all memorial contributions may be made to H.C. Smith Benefit Club or to S.A.V.A.C. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
