Obituary of Timothy Cook

MOHAWK - Timothy C. ?Tim? Cook, 65, a lifelong resident of Warren Road, Mohawk, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 29, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Tim was born Dec. 7, 1941, at the Ilion Hospital, son of Douglas and Margaret (Hopkins) Cook. He attended Mohawk schools, and was a graduate of Mohawk High School ?Class of 1959.? Tim was a proud U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving our country from 1959-1964. He was a member of the Mohawk Crowley-Barnum Post 25 for 39 years. He was last employed by George Lumber in Little Falls, prior to that he was the owner and operator of C&S Hardware on Otsego St., in Mohawk. Tim was a NASCAR fan, and at one time volunteered as an advisor for the Boy Scouts Explorer Post in Mohawk. He was devoted to his beloved mother, brother and family. Survivors include his mother, Margaret Cook at home; his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Nancy Cook of Mohawk; one nephew, Joshua Cook of Mohawk; one niece, Colleen Thomas and her husband Nathien of Frankfort. He also leaves several cousins and good friends. Tim was predeceased by his father, Douglas Cook on Oct. 5, 1972. Family and friends are invited to visitation Thursday, Aug. 30, (today) from 5-8 p.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk. The Mohawk American Legion Post 25 will conduct its memorial service for Tim Thursday evening (tonight) commencing at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Tim's funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 31, commencing at 10 a.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day funeral home, Mohawk, with Sister Mary Jo Tallman, parish life director of the Blessed Sacrament Church, officiating. Procession to Mohawk Cemetery for interment will follow the funeral service. In lieu of floral offerings, please consider memorial contributions in Tim's name to the American Cancer Society. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
