Obituary of Betty DeLuca

Betty Lou (McCumber) DeLuca, 65, passed away on Sunday May 20, 2007 at Little Falls Hospital after a courageous twenty-six year battle with cancer. She was born November 3, 1941 in Little Falls the daughter of the late George and Anna Mae McCumber. Betty Lou was educated in the Church Street and Little Falls High Schools. Betty Lou was a kind and generous care giving sister, sister-in-law, and special aunt to all of her nephews & nieces. Mrs. DeLuca was a dedicated servant to her Lord and to the Holy Family Parish as she volunteered countless hours to her church. Betty Lou also was a dedicated patriot to the USA as she thought all men and women who served in the Armed Forces were the real heroes. She was especially proud of her immediate family members who served our country for ninety-five years in the military. Betty Lou always thought of her brothers, sisters ? in ?law, and nieces & nephews to be one of her top priorities in life. Mrs. DeLuca had many friends who enjoyed each other?s company going to the YMCA and going out to restaurants to dine. She worked for more than 50 years in the Mohawk Valley area at various companies, including; Allegro Shoe Company, Remington Arms, Salada, and Redco Tea Company and the Little Falls Hospital, Kitchen Department retiring do to poor health in 2005. Betty Lou is survived by her family; brothers, Jere McCumber and wife Barbara of Stanford, Kentucky, Robert McCumber and wife Josephine of Little Falls, and Charles McCumber of Little Falls. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews and many special friends who helped her in her battle with cancer. Betty Lou is pre-deceased her parents George and Anna Mae McCumber and brother Roger McCumber. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 24, 2007 at 11:15 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls and at 12:00 noon from Holy Family Parish where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor. Burial will take place at a later date in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday May 23, 2007 from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the Holy Family Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
