Obituary of Mary DeLuke

FRANKFORT - Mrs. Mary (Lore) DeLuke, 82, of Litchfield Manor, a longtime Canal St. resident, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Sept. 26, 2007, in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. She was born on August 27, 1925 in Frankfort, daughter of the late Alfonso and Josephine (Sgroi) Lore and attended Frankfort schools. On June 15, 1946, Mary was joined in marriage at St. Mary?s Church, Frankfort with Robert ?Marco? DeLuke. They shared an enjoyable relationship of 49 years built on virtue, mutual respect and love. Throughout her life Mary considered taking care of her husband and children her number one job. She remained active in the community of Frankfort holding memberships with the Columbiana Society, St. Francis Auxiliary and the Young at Heart Senior Citizens. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort, and its Altar Rosary Society. Mary loved to socialize and cook and bake wonderful meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and also gardening. Despite her many interests and activities, Mary derived the greatest joy from her loved ones. She lived her life in accordance with her deep and unconditional love for her family and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Survivors include her loving family; three children: JoAnn V. Mathews and husband John G. of Chittenango, RoseMary DeLuke Frankfort, and Robert S. ?Bob? DeLuke of Hackensack, NJ; a sister: Grace M. Dudeck and husband Matt of Frankfort; four grandchildren: Tricia Narolis and husband Mike, Lisa Sicilia and husband Jon, Melissa Girolamo and Janessa and fianc? Benny Pease; her great grandchildren: Jonathan and Anthony Sicilia, Mary Francis Girolamo and Adrianna Narolis and Olivia Narolis; in laws: Arlene Lore of Pennsylvania and Raymond ?Hunch? DeLuke and wife Ida of Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings: Samuel Lore, Josephine Gillette and James Lore. Visitation, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Frankfort and Ilion, (894-8000). Mrs. DeLuke's funeral will commence at 11:15 am on Saturday morning, September 29th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered thence to Our Lady Queen of Apostles, Frankfort St., Frankfort where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm by the Rev. John Yanas, Jr., pastor. Procession will follow to All Souls Chapel (Mt. Olivet Cemetery), Frankfort, where committal service will take place. Kindly consider memorial offerings to the All Souls Chapel Fund; envelopes and donations can be made at the funeral home. Members of the following fine organizations will gather at the funeral home on Friday to conduct services: Young at Heart Senior Citizens at 5:00 p.m., and the St. Francis Auxiliary at 5:30 p.m. The family offers a heartfelt thanks to all of the residents and friends at Litchfield Manor. Mary truly enjoyed every friendship she made there.
