Obituary of Donald Doxstader

Mr. Donald C. Doxstader 77 of 15 North Main Street Dolgeville, died Friday afternoon November 9, 2007, at his residence, surrounded by the comfort and love of his family. Don was born in Middleville, on May 10, 1930 the son of Jay and Cora (Patterson) Doxstader and was educated in school in Dolgeville. His marriage to the former June Marie Randall took place on May 19, 1951 in Nelliston, New York. They recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. A veteran of the United States Army he served honorably from February 1951 until his discharge in February 1953. He was discharged with the rank of Corporal. Don was a carpenter by trade working throughout the area for different construction companies. He was a former member of the American Legion Post of Dolgeville and his personal enjoyments were taking trips with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed hunting in his earlier years. He is survived by his wife June of 56 years, his sons Donald Doxstader Jr. and his companion Tina, Dale C. Doxstader both of Dolgeville and Dave and his wife Valarie Doxstader of Romulus, New York, a brother and his wife Emery and Nila Doxstader of Dolgeville, 10 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his Brother Harry and Frederick and his sisters Dorothy Lyons, Helen Plato, Ethel Horner, Gertrude Newman, Emily Baxter and Martha Dineen. Graveside memorial services with Military Honors will be held Saturday November 17th, 2007 at 11 AM in the Salisbury Rural Cemetery. Rev. Chris J. Wintermute, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Little Falls will officiate. There are NO Calling hours.
