Obituary of Caroline Frank

Mrs. Caroline A. (D'Alessio) Frank, 82, of 339 Fifth Avenue, Frankfort, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, March 8, 2007 in Faxton/St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. When her passing occurred she had the love and support of her family at her side. Caroline was born on October 28, 1924 in Rome, NY cherished daughter of the late Frank and Ida (Spadafora) D'Alessio. She was raised in Rome. Upon completion of high school, she went on to attend and graduate from the Utica School of Commerce with a major in Executive Secretarial Science. Caroline's career experiences included employment with General Cable Corporation of Rome; John Gualteri Law Offices of Rome; American Locomotive of Schenectady; and finally the Frankfort-Schuyler Central School System where she retired after ten years of dedicated service. On September 9, 1950, Caroline was united in marriage with Dominick J. Frank of Frankfort, in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Rome, with the Reverend Victor F. Ciciarelli officiating. The two shared 56 blessed years of marriage together, residing in Schenectady and Utica, and then settling in Frankfort. Primarily a devoted housewife and mother, Caroline's foremost concern was to create a warm, nurturing and happy home for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved reading and was always in the middle of three or four books at any given time. She enjoyed listening to music, watching television movies, and was a "wizard" at solving crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Dominick of Frankfort; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph D. (Mary Louise) Frank of Summit, NJ; and Jon P. (Ann) Frank of Ilion; one daughter and son-in-law, Maryrose C. (Douglas) Ewell of Frankfort; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph A. (Lisa) D'Alessio of Arroyo Grande, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances A. (Kenneth) Woodhouse of Rome; in-laws, Kathryn Frank of San Francisco, CA. and Julia M. Frank of Frankfort. Also surviving are "Nonnie's" seven cherished grandchildren; Dominica R. Spine, Amanda M. Frank, William E. Frank, Maxwell B. Frank, Jadelyn R. Ewell, Joshua J. Frank, and Hannah M. Frank; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and parents-in-law, she was predeceased by an infant son, Paul James Frank, an infant brother, Joseph F. D'Alessio; in-laws Samuel and Carmella Bono, Pauline F. Frank, Frank R. Frank, and several nieces and nephews. Caroline appreciated the many friends and acquaintances she was blessed with throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed everyone's friendship while living and respectfully requested to depart this world on a quiet and personal note. In keeping with Caroline's wishes there are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be offered at B lessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 11 am, with Father Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, celebrating, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. At the conclusion of mass, the family will form a receving line in the vestibule of the church. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, at the convenience of the family. Caroline's family wishes to thank Dr. Atul Butala, Nurse Practitioner Michele Misiaszek and their entire staff; also Earlena Rood, R.N., and the staff of Faxton's Outpatient Infusion Unit; St. Luke's Sixth Floor and ICU nursing staffs; and the many others who provided care during this time. The family is being served by the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort) Ilion, NY.
