Obituary of Audrey Gollegly

ILION - Mrs. Audrey M. Gollegly, age 78 of 75 Barringer Road, Ilion, passed away on Good Friday April 6, 2007 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home with her loving family at her side. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Pierce, Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred & Alice (Brumagem) Stapp. Her family had moved to Ilion where Audrey had lived the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Ilion High School. On June 5, 1948 she joined in marriage with Emmett J. Gollegly in Ilion, a blessed union of 56 years. Emmett passed away on October 30, 2004. Audrey had worked with the former Ilion Hospital for twenty years, retiring in 1990. Audrey will be remembered for her kind and gentle way. She devoted herself to her family. She is survived by her beloved family including her children: Pamela & Brad Griffin of Whitney Point, NY; James M. Gollegly of Daytona Beach, FL; Sherri & Kevin Schiebel of Cedarville; Kevin P. & Marlene Gollegly of Herkimer; and Renee Gollegly of Ilion; Grandchildren: Kristyn & Andrea Morris; Jana Moore, Melissa Gollegly; Ian Griffin, Kyle & Alisha Gollegly; and Michael & Heather Schiebel; great grandchildren: Skyler Moore; Josiah Moore; Aniyah Moore, Zachary Morris Davis, William, Jonathan, and Matthew Schiebel; sisters in law: Ann Jean Flanagan of Oklahoma City, OK; Carol Gollegly of Chadwicks, and Helen Gollegly of North Utica; two step sisters: Mary Jackson of Herkimer, and Arlene Pritchard of West Winfield, a step brother: William Dibble of Alabama; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Craig W. Schiebel. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM from the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street Between Ilion & Frankfort with Deacon James Bowers of the Church of the Annunciation, officiating. Interment will follow at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Thursday evening Apr. 12 from 5 -7 pm. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that donations be considered to either the Ilion Ambulance Fund or the Herkimer Area Resource Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Meals on Wheels program, to Dawn (Public Health Home Health Aid), the Claxton manor and the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home for the compassion shown.
