Obituary of John Hoffman

John Hoffman, 81, of St. Johnsville, passed away on Tuesday March 6, 2007 at St. Elizabeth?s Hospital in Utica. He was pre-deceased by his wife Louise Winkler. John was born on May 16, 1925 in Little Falls Hospital, and lived his entire life in St. Johnsville. He is the son of the late Cornelius & Katherine (Flynn) Hoffman and attended St. Johnsville Central School. His marriage to Louise Winkler of Nelliston took place on May 15, 1948 at St. James Catholic Church in Fort Plain. He was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in St. Johnsville, NY. Mr. Hoffman worked for Groves Construction on the Massachusetts Turnpike, Lenz Hardware, and farmed for many years with his father and wife Louise on the family farm on Crum Creek Road until their retirement in 1984. Survivors include his brother, Edward Hoffman of London, England; a daughter, Mary Lowery and husband John of Ithaca; a son, David Hoffman and wife Theresa of Rochester; his granddaughters, Kathleen (Ronnell) Robertson of Moravia; and Elizabeth, Sarah and Emily Hoffman of Rochester; a great grandson, John Charles Robertson and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 10, 2007, at 9:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville and at 9:30 am from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Spring burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday March 9, 2007 from 4-8 pm.
