Mrs. Eugenia Humphrey 88 a resident of the Valley Health Services of Herkimer and formerly of 212 State Route 29A Salisbury Center, died Monday February 19, 2007 after an extended illness. She was born in Salisbury Center on May 21, 1918 the daughter of George and Edna (Dodge) VanValkenburg and attended local schools. Her marriage to Kenneth M. Humphrey took place on May 2, 1947 at the home of her parents in Salisbury Center. Mr. Humphrey predeceased her on April 5, 2000. She is survived by a Brother George VanValkenburg of New Zealand. Mrs. Humphrey will be remembered for her love of animals, including her cats that she cared for up until she went to the nursing home. A graveside memorial service will be held later in the spring in the Dibble ? Tuttle cemetery. There are No Calling hours. She may be remembered with a donation to the Herkimer County Humane Society or a charity of one?s choice.
