Obituary of Joseph Kerzic

LITTLE FALLS/ARIZONA-Mr. Joseph Kerzic, 90, a Little Falls native, passed away on November 21, 2007 in Arizona. He was born on April 4, 1917, in Forest City, Pa., son of the late Thomas and Frances (Urbas) Kerzic and graduated from St. Mary's Academy. Joseph joined the Coast Guard in the spring of 1942 and served on the Mohawk Coast Guard Cutter in the North Atlantic as a machinist, 3 rd class. He was honorably discharged in October of 1945. In 1948, Mr. Kerzic was united in marriage with Helen Potter; she passed away in a vehicular accident in 1980. He moved from Little Falls to Arizona in 2002 and was last employed as an electrician with the paper mill in Little Falls and also as an electrician for Local #43 IBEW of Utica. Joe attended Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. Survivors include his brother: John Kerzic and wife Clare of Little Falls; in laws: William and Betty Potter of Seattle, Washington, Bernard and Catherine Potter of Little Falls, Mary Sovle of Richfield Springs; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters: Cecelia Willert, Mary Kerzic and Sophia Klc Phillips. Mr. Kerzic was a loving brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing tennis and also cross country skiing. In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
