Obituary of Edward Komar

Edward Komar, 95, a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Sunday December 23, 2007 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born September 21, 1912 in Amsterdam, NY the son of Steve and Stella (Zelinski) Komarowski. In 1952, he received a degree for Radio and Television Service from the National Radio and Television Institute. His marriage to Julia Malinoski took place on May 29, 1948 in Fort Plain. Mr. Komar was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on April 23, 1942 and was honorably discharged on November 12, 1945 with the rank of Private First Class. Ed was a self-employed man specializing in Radio and Television Repair. At one time he worked at the former Luxuray Mill in Fort Plain. Survivors include her loving wife, Julia of St. Johnsville, a son, Edward D. Komar and wife Nancy, of Hyde Park, NY a daughter, Deborah Komar of Broadalbin, NY, a brother John Komar and wife Hazel of St. Johnsville, two grandchildren, Alicia & Jared Komar and several nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Joseph, George and Charles Komar. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 27, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with Sister Johanne McCarthy, Parish Life Director of St. Patrick?s Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday December 26, 2007 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions may be made to S.A.V.A.C or a charity of one?s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
