MOHAWK - Maxine D. Kublick, 87, of Cary Avenue, Mohawk, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at her home, where she had resided for more than 50 years. Mrs. Kublick was born Maxine Dolly on Feb. 10, 1920, in Witmer, W.Va., the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Lambert) Dolly. She graduated from DeRuyter High School in 1938. During World War II she worked at Norwich Pharmacal Company. On Jan. 26, 1946, she married John A. Kublick, a union that lasted 40 years until Mr. Kublick's passing in 1986. In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Kublick served as an assistant, and later the librarian at the Weller Library in Mohawk from 1950 until her retirement in 1999. She was also a Democratic Party Poll Watcher, a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church, a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Myrtle Chapter in Herkimer. Mrs. Kublick enjoyed snow skiing and swimming and, with her late husband, was a member of the Mohawk Valley Ski and Outing Club. Survivors include her son, Jan S. Kublick and his fianc? Kimberly Cameron of Tully, N.Y.; grandchildren, Daniel P. Kublick and Jillian P. Kublick, both of Tully; sisters, Erma Edwards of Lennox, Mass., and Jean Dolgos of Norwich, N.Y., and one brother-in-law, Allen White of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a very special friend, Helen McGowan of Mohawk. Mrs. Kublick was predeceased by her husband, John; infant brother, Delbert Dolly; brothers, Dale and David Dolly; sisters, Viva Smith, twin sister Levine White and Mildred Baldwin. Mrs. Kublick's funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2007, commencing at 1 p.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, pastor of the Mohawk United Methodist Church, officiating. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a ritual service Monday at noon at the funeral home for Mrs. Kublick. Her interment will take place in DeRuyter Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Mrs. Kublick's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
