Obituary of Jennie Levi

HERKIMER - Jennie M. Levi, 86, of Walnut Avenue, Herkimer, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at the Little Falls Hospital, after being stricken at her home. She was born on Dec. 31, 1920, in Little Falls, the daughter of Kazimer and Katy Scislo Staszko, and was a graduate of Little Falls High School. On Aug. 16, 1947, she married John Levi at the Holy Spirit National Catholic Church in Little Falls. Mr. Levi died April 5, 1989. Mrs. Levi worked as a seamstress for a number of years at a dress factory in Little Falls. She also worked as an assembler for over 10 years at Mohawk Data Science in East Herkimer until she retired in the 1970s. She was a communicant of the Holy Spirit National Catholic Church in Little Falls. In addition to spending time with all of her family, she particularly enjoyed traveling to golf tournaments and watching her son, Wayne Levi, a PGA Tour Pro, play golf. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne J. and Judy Levi, New Hartford, and Dale M. and Darlene Levi, Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren, Michelle, Lauren, Christine, Brian, Kyle and Christopher Levi; and a brother-in-law, Frank Wnuk, San Ramon, Calif. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. Mrs. Levi's funeral service will commence on Wednesday morning with a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from the Holy Spirit National Catholic Church with the Rev. Rafael Dadello, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Polish National Cemetery, Herkimer. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Central Region, 120 Lomond Court, Utica, N.Y. 13502. Arrangements are with Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan.
